I was a huge fan/proponent/consumer of Google Reader. RSS feeds didn’t excite me much prior to the advent of that fine service. If I had to keep track of what I’d read and what I hadn’t to be able to read on multiple devices, I might as well just visit web sites. Google changed all that once I could access the Google Reader website from any computer, phone, tablet, etc. in...
I’m not one who is dragged kicking and screaming into the future. Quite the opposite, I suppose, I embrace new technologies. I’ll wait for other folks to sort them out, quite often, and find their usefulness, but I thrive on new things. I was hesitant to move into the realm of “smart” phones, even as much as I used my Palm Pilot™ back in the day. Somewhere along the line a...
This is really the sort of video that should be filmed with a cup of tea instead of silly old coffee… It’s also something that you just can’t stop watching. I love the videos that folks make using super high speed cameras. It’s great how growth in technology drives down cost and grants more people access to tools or allows people to put tools in harm’s way with less financial risk.
The best part of living in Dallas is the weather. Except when it isn’t. I constantly marvel that I can comfortably drive my convertible top-down most every week of the year. It seems, however, that Canada wanted to share some misery and shipped us a metric arse-ton of cold air…
Sport hunting taken to new, um, heights, I suppose… This seems like a great idea, to me, and I hope the FAA will consider rules that make drone deliveries practical or at least legal. What a world it will be with thousands of tiny quad-copters zipping to and fro delivering packages. Some of the photographic systems already available on these copters are fantastic and only stand to improve as gimbals become...
I’ve been using Sparrow as my mail client for over a year since OS X has become my primary operating system. It has served me well, but certainly suffers from a lack of attention since Google bought it and shelved further development. I had forgotten how nice having a real “app” for e-mail was, since I had given up on Outlook and its brethren years back…
Amanda used to really like my thick hair. Now the only thing thick above my neck is my head. Hey… at least I’ll admit it. Actually, my beard is pretty thick… thick enough, in fact, to intimidate my razor. There are days it’ll barely slice through – and the electric gadget can just forget it. Amanda brought home some stuff called Biotin the other week since it was on sale at...
